The 500 square meter boutique continues the innovative store concept developed by the Valentino Creative Direction together with renowned British architect David Chipperfield.
The store concept combines old and new in order to generate a kind of Palazzo atmosphere, steering away from a pure showroom and promoting a new retail architectural format in place of a more traditional retail boutique structure.
The architecture is designed to complement the pieces on display, making use of a range of discreetly opulent materials - grey Venetian terrazzo with Carrara chippings, timber, marble and soft carpets - to focus attention on the collections and evoke a sense of intimacy.
The Moscow store proposes a special room, the “Historical Room”, which communicates the memory of the previous interior space. The design aims to preserve the historical and architectural character of the original location by maintaining the existing surfaces and the main decorative elements. The walls, ceilings and columns have been finished with a lime wash after undergoing a thorough cleaning process, while new Terrazzo flooring and new Terrazzo portals give consistency to the store through their strong solidity.
The Metropol Hotel boutique carries all womenswear product categories: ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrances. The new global store concept creates a shared personal atmosphere while still maintaining the brand’s fundamental values of craftsmanship, romanticism and classical style.
